West Harrison is hosting their Annual Youth Basketball Tournament on January 4th. The tournament is open to 3rd thru 8th grade boys and girls teams. Registration is open until December 13th with a fee of $125 per team. See information and registration forms attached for more details.

These Hawkeyes were caught SOARing last week! The weekly S.O.A.R. award is given to elementary students who display the following positive behaviors:
S- Safety (I will act in a way that protects myself and others.)
O- On Task (I will focus on what we are learning and only my own work.)
A- Achievement (I will show my best effort in all that I do.)
R- Respect (I will respect myself, others, and our school. I am kind and helpful.)

Come help support our junior class as we put on our Breakfast with Santa Event. We will have free will donation baked goods, breakfast, and gift wrapping. Most importantly, Santa will be at our High School to visit with kids. We will also have vendors for you to do some Christmas shopping.

Little Hawks Wrestling will start Tuesday, November 19th. There will be a parent meeting at 5:30pm with practice to follow until 6:30pm. Parent meeting will be held in the Elementary Commons/Entryway at the tables by the office.

Good Afternoon,
I am writing to inform you that, due to low participation numbers in high school girls’ basketball, West Harrison will begin sharing the girls’ basketball program with Missouri Valley starting next week and continuing for the remainder of the 2024-2025 basketball season.
Earlier this week, concerns regarding overall athletic participation were discussed at the school board meeting, particularly the potential challenges that high school girls’ basketball may face in completing a season due to low participation. In response, the board requested that I investigate this matter further, gather input from the girls and coaches, and explore possible sharing opportunities.
Yesterday, I spoke with the girls who are planning to participate in high school basketball. They expressed a strong desire to share the program with another district to ensure they can play a complete basketball season this year. Following this discussion, I reached out to Missouri Valley, and we established a mutual interest in sharing the high school girls' basketball program. West Harrison players and coaches will begin practicing with Missouri Valley on Monday.
On Monday, both the West Harrison and Missouri Valley school boards will meet to approve the sharing of the 9-12 girls’ basketball program for the 2024-2025 season. The West Harrison Board will convene at 4:00 PM on Monday.
