Dear West Harrison Family,
These six students and I are planning a fourteen- day trip to Valencia, Spain, during our Mid Term, May 13th to May 27. They want to pursue this one-in-a-lifetime adventure. These kids will be staying with local families, attending High School classes and doing some sightseeing activities. Some highlights of the trip will be visiting el Centro Historico, going to the beach, Parque de Cabecera, Torres de Quart and Serranos and el Oceanografico.
We have begun fundraising for our cause by having a Halloween dance and arranging a free will donation dinner in September during Parent/ Teachers Conferences. However, our fundraising takes a hit due to all of our participants being involved in other activities throughout our school and community. As a group, we decided to reach out to your generosity for assistance with the cost of our trip to Spain.
We appreciate any amount that you can give us to help us fund such a different and thrilling experience. If you are considering donating, please make checks out to West Harrison Spanish.
For further questions, comments, or concerns, please contact Carmen Palmero at cpalmero@w-harrison.k12.ia.us.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

This year, we counted down the '12 Days Until Christmas Break' with some dress-up. Three students were chosen as best dressed on tree-topper and present day: Emma, Lexie, and Kenzie. Three more students were selected as best dressed on Ho-Ho-Hoedown day: Gage, Vayda, and Ryker.
Congratulations to all students participating in our '12 Days Until Christmas Break' dress-up fun! We had a lot of fun looking at everyone and trying to pick only three for best dressed was TOUGH! Keep showing your school spirit as we finish out the week and head into the much-anticipated Christmas break.
Happy Holidays from the Middle School and High School Student Councils!

Today, students taking Freshmen Seminar were helping 1st grade children paint. They are awesome. I am very proud of you guys!!
